Bagan Datoh (Datok) is situated on the S bank of the Sungai Perak, about 4 miles E of Tanjong Beras Basah. Bagan Datoh and Teluk Intan are no longer ports of any significance. Most of the traffic is confined to a few coastal tankers transporting oil supplies from Port Dickson, which will cease when the planned bridge is constructed across the Sungai Perak.
Anchorage may be taken about 0.3 mile from the shore off the pier at Bagan Datoh, in about 6.4m, mud.
