Description

La côte S est escarpée, élevée et rocheuse, découpée par de nombreuses anses. Les débarquements ne sont possible que par mer calme. L'environnement est superbe avec une végétation très dense. Le cap d'Armes, extrémité S de l'île, porte un phare, tour carrée   blanche (20m), entourée d'un corps de logis à l'W et à proximité du phare s'élèvent les pylônes rouges et blancs de l'ancien radiophare.
A 1,4M au NE de ce même phare, sur le point culminant de l'île (140m), est établie la vigie sur les constructions blanches de l'ancien sémaphore (21m).
Au S, près de la côte, les dômes blancs d'un observatoire et des pylônes dominent le mont des Salins. Une bouée de mesure de houle, lumineuse, est mouillée à 1,1m au S du Cap d'Armes.
