The iset Capense (isula di Capezza in Corsican) is a small island (about 2 ha) bathed by the Mediterranean Sea and located on the village of Centuri in the Cap Corse, off the port.
The islet Capense was fortified in the same time of the harbor at the twelfth or thirteenth century. The chapel of Santa Maria Maddalena built on the islet in the Middle Ages is now in ruins. The islet was sold by the State in 1960 and was finally purchased by the Coastal Conservancy.
Attention at the northern islet, some shallow. Total ban on spearfishing and diving all forms of fishing.
L'îlot de Capense (en corse isula di Capezza) est une petite île (environ 2 ha) baignée par la mer Méditerranée et située sur la commune de Centuri dans le Cap Corse, au large du port. L'îlot de Capense fut fortifié en même temps que le port vers les XIIe ou XIIIe siècle. La chapelle de Santa-Maria-Maddalena construite sur l'îlot au Moyen Âge est aujourd'hui en ruines. L'îlot fut mis en vente par l'État dès 1960 et fut finalement acheté par le Conservatoire du littoral.
Attention au nord de l'Îlot, quelques hauts fonds. Interdiction totale de chasse sous marine plongée et de toute forme de pêche.
