In the past "A Vasina", Lavasina or La Vasina, is a village built there over a century 7km north of Bastia, on the district of BRANDO, near a pebble beach at the mouth of Fiume Arega and location of the ancient town of BLESINUM, existing five centuries BC.
In the center of Lavasina stand the shrine and the Franciscan convent of Our Lady of Lavasina (Santa Maria Natività) from the 17th century, with an unsightly cement tower topped by a statue of the Virgin. It replaced the chapel Madonna della Grazia on the foundations of an ancient Roman religious sanctuary.
This is an important pilgrimage site on September 8, feast of the Nativity of the Virgin. September 7 runs a torchlight procession.

Autrefois A Vasina, LAVASINA, est un village construit il y a plus d'un siècle à 7km au nord de Bastia, sur la commune de BRANDO, près d'une plage de galets à l'embouchure du fiume Arega et à l'emplacement de l'antique bourgade de BLESINUM déjà existante 5 siècles avant notre ère.
Au centre de LAVASINA se dressent le sanctuaire et le couvent franciscain de Notre-Dame de LAVASINA (Santa Maria Natività) du 17e siècle, doté d'un clocher en ciment peu esthétique surmonté d'une statue de la Vierge. Il a remplacé la chapelle Madonna della Grazia sur les fondations d'un antique sanctuaire religieux romain.
C'est un important lieu de pèlerinage le 8 septembre, fête de la Nativité de la Vierge. Le 7 septembre se déroule une procession aux flambeaux.
