Boot key Harbor is one of the largest mooring fields in the country. It is also often hailed as one of the most protected harbors on the Eastern coast. The accessibility, particulary for sail boats that may draw a larger draft than sport fishing boats populating other aera marinas, allow for a unique set boaters and cruisers to populate Marathon. 266 ball moorings. A larger anchorage field S of the main Harbor Channel between Sister Creek and the Boot Key Bridge offers additional anchorage for transient live aboard sailors.
