A charming, well protected port town in a narrow channel between N. Paxos and Melissi. Water and fuel by truck. You can enter Gaios from a northerly or southerly direction passing two small islands, the first at the mouth of Gaios harbour is called Panayia (Virgin Mary) on which there is a splendid white monastery.

En arrivant par le S, le phare sur Antipaxos est remarquable. Ce port est très fréquenté en été. Les ferries, les bateaux en flottilles ou autres vont et viennent, congestionnant le petit port. Il faut donc faire attention en entrant dans le port. A cause de ce trafic important, il est fréquent que les mouillages s'emmêlent.

Agréable petit port bien protégé. Il est préférable d’arriver même par vent fort par le nord plus de fond 15 m que le sud 2m. Bien protégé du vent N ou W. Eau et GO par camion. Beaucoup de restaurants, bars sur le port. Un peu de ravitaillement.
