Description

Lignumvitae Key is an island in the upper Florida
Keys. It is located due north of, and less than one mile from the easternmost tip of Lower Matecumbe Key.
The island has the Keys' highest point above sea level of 19 feet (5.8 m), which beats the island of Key West's
Solares Hill by 1 foot (0.30 m). This dark green island is covered in rare tropical hardwoods such as the island's namesake, Holywood Lignum-vitae (Guaiacum sanctum).

Lignumvitae Key is a state botanical park, and landlubbers can access it by boat from Robbie's Marina.

Lignumvitae Key est une île des Keys d'en Haut, en Floride. Elle est située au N et à moins d'1 M de la pointe la plus orientale de Lower Matecumbe Key.
De toute les Keys, l'île possède le plus haut point de 5,8 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer, elle dépasse de 0,30 m la Solares Hill de Key West. Cette île est couverte de feuillus tropicaux rares dont elle porte le nom.
